Ok, probably the most basic recipe in the world other than toast, but I love making these so I thought I would share! I've been trying to eat a bit healthier this month seeing as Christmas is coming up. I thought if I go healthy now, I can treat myself at Christmas without feeling guilty. I'd say it makes sense. Kale is a vegetable I hated growing up. My Mum used to give it to me with roast dinners and it would smell so bad. However recently I've been having a lot of kale based juices and I had some kale crisps when I was in Pret A Manger recently, so I had a bash at making them myself.
What you'll need:
- Kale
- Salt and black pepper
- Whatever other seasoning you like (I use garlic and coriander and sometimes chilli powder)
Ok, so instead of doing this in steps I'm just gonna tell you like this because there's only like, 2 steps. First, you cut the kale up into however many pieces you like and whatever thickness you like. After this, you just spread them out on a baking tray and season them. I grind salt and pepper and then sprinkle it with garlic and coriander and then they just go in the oven (I don't have a certain gas-mark or anything) and just keep an eye on them until you think they look crispy and brown. One thing I do sometimes is to leave them overnight so they go really dry and crispy like proper crisps.
Let me know if you try this recipe! x
