Recipe: Healthy Kale Crisps

Ok, probably the most basic recipe in the world other than toast, but I love making these so I thought I would share! I've been trying to eat a bit healthier this month seeing as Christmas is coming up. I thought if I go healthy now, I can treat myself at Christmas without feeling guilty. I'd say it makes sense. Kale is a vegetable I hated growing up. My Mum used to give it to me with roast dinners and it would smell so bad. However recently I've been having a lot of kale based juices and I had some kale crisps when I was in Pret A Manger recently, so I had a bash at making them myself.

What you'll need:

  • Kale
  • Salt and black pepper
  • Whatever other seasoning you like (I use garlic and coriander and sometimes chilli powder)
Ok, so instead of doing this in steps I'm just gonna tell you like this because there's only like, 2 steps. First, you cut the kale up into however many pieces you like and whatever thickness you like. After this, you just spread them out on a baking tray and  season them. I grind salt and pepper and then sprinkle it with garlic and coriander and then they just go in the oven (I don't have a certain gas-mark or anything) and just keep an eye on them until you think they look crispy and brown. One thing I do sometimes is to leave them overnight so they go really dry and crispy like proper crisps.

Let me know if you try this recipe! x

Coven

I heard so much buzz about American Horror Story so, in the spirit of Halloween, I decided to give it a go. Firstly let me just say, it's freaking scary! I was so shocked about how scary it was because I hear so many teens talking about it on social media, but it really freaked me out! I skipped the second half of Murder House and all of Asylum because I was actually so terrified (lame) and started watching Coven because my friend told me it wasn't as scary as the others. Let's get one thing straight: the costume choices in Coven are gorgeous! The 75% black and 25% white clothing thing was so pretty and interesting and reflected the characters perfectly. I was really inspired by the fashion in Coven as I wear a lot of monochrome-based outfits anyway, so the show introduced me to new ways of styling classic black and white. The great thing about the outfits I've styled below is they can work as an AHS inspired Halloween costume or as your witchy everyday casual wear. Another great reason to watch Coven? Evan Peters. Enough said.

How Do You Selfie?

I see a lot of blog posts and YouTube videos with titles like "How To Take The Perfect Selfie" and "Perfecting The Selfie" and I just wanted to say, I think that's so weird! Nobody is the same and posting a selfie is something you should be comfortable with.
Being confident with yourself is a great thing, and posting a selfie is a sign that you are happy with shows that. There is no 'correct' way to pose for a selfie. Yes, I understand that some people have, sort of 'themed' Instagram accounts, etc. and they have certain ways they like to pose for their aesthetic, but basically what I'm trying to say is that if YOU like your picture, post it! x

Style Icon - Kendall Jenner

I admit it, I am a massive Keeping Up With The Kardashians fan! I'm not even ashamed to admit it, it's like my guilty pleasure and I laugh at every episode! I think the main reason I like it so much is because they have a huge family, like me, so I can kind of relate to the craziness of their lives (although obviously I don't have to deal with the fame, papa, etc. thank God!). Kendall is probably my favourite of all the Kardashians, as well as Khloe because she is just hilarious! Anyway, Kendall just seems so genuine and polite. I thought what she did at her sweet 16 birthday party by having a gift table for the children's hospital was super generous seeing as her friends and family are quite wealthy, and you can always tell she doesn't take her fame and fortune for granted.

Kendall is KILLING it at the moment on the fashion scene! I think she did an amazing job during SS15 fashion week last month and she is managing to keep a good name for herself and doesn't so anything to try and get in to the papers. Along with an awesome personality and a beautiful face, comes an epic sense of style. Kendall has really nailed the chic, off-duty model look that I so badly wish to have! Although her outfits may be pricey, it's not hard to find similar pieces on the high street. Here are some of my favourite looks Kendall has pulled off in the last year or so. As you can see, she has THE best casual style ever to grace any human and I hope she continues to rock everything she wears! What a woman!

SW3 Inspired

Made In Chelsea is one of my all time favourite TV shows, and when I got my new job I was so excited to learn that I'd be spending a lot of time in the area. Since I started the job, I've seen so much amazing style and I've become so inspired by a certain style that I've never really taken to before - fur. Not real fur, of course, but faux fur is taking over my wardrobe right now! I'm loving the fur vest and fur coat trend, as well as fur hats and stoles for this season. Also, the colour variety! Black is classic but also grey and brown tones are so cute! Check below for outfit inspo! x

Exploring East London

Yesterday I spent the day wandering through the streets of East London for the first time. I've always wanted to go to the East but I just never really go out that far, so I dragged my Papa out for the day and promised him there would be some good photo opportunities! We wondered around Spitalfields Market for a while (as the fashion market is every Saturday) and had lunch at Pret before heading to Brick Lane to check out some of the cool pop-up galleries and vintage stores. Also, the graffiti was a pleasant surprise. Pics below! x
